Day Out With Thomas

What a treat we had on Tuesday! We have been holding out on doing "A Day Out With Thomas" for several years, but this year we finally decided that this would be a huge blessing for our child and went for it.

Double bonus: we went with Mattie and Tonya. As you can tell by Josiah's smile, he thinks she hung the moon. We're boarded on Thomas at this point. Our ride was at 12:30, so I was slightly concerned J might fall asleep!

Micah's first train ride.
He was a real trooper, especially considering he didn't get a nap until about 4 p.m.!

Posing with Thomas. He really is quite grand in person.

With Sir Topham Hatt.

They had loads of Thomas toys to sample. Needless to say, it was hard to encourage Josiah to leave this wonderland.

The other bonus of going to see Thomas was we also got admission to Tweetsie Railroad. Here are the buddies riding on the airplane ride.

And the boats. The best part is ringing the bell.
Personally, I was so glad we waited a year to do this. There is a long list of things, these rides being one of them, that he probably would not have done, or would not have enjoyed, last year.

Tonya and Micah. She is such a helpful friend!

Micah's favorite part: panning for gold. Scratch that, panning for sand and rocks.

They had a fun petting zoo where you could buy ice cream cones filled with animal food and feed goats, sheep, pigs and llamas. They also had deer and emus, both of which were strange to be so close to.
Item #2 on the list of "Things my child would not do last year, but would do this year." Enjoy feeding a goat. He giggled each time an animal licked his hand. There were also the cutest baby goats.

Micah has zero fear of animals. Loves them.

End-of-day meltdown.

Item #3 on the aforementioned list. Enjoying the bounce house and going down the slide by himself.

Yee-haw. What a super-fun day! Peep! Peep!
