Just Floating

Josiah was tentative to get in the lake too, but really loved floating around with a life jacket.

Love that cutie.

Daredevil with my honey. Reminded me of our days at my parents' lake house.

They also rented a jet ski and the tube was even more fun behind that apparently.

Tubing!

We all had a blast tubing!

Even more fun with my sweetie!

Aww... David and Amy.

That is one cute driver!

On the Boat

We had a wonderful few days with the Moseleys and the Olive great-grandparents on Lake Gaston. They rented a boat one day, and it was a blast. Josiah LOVED it. He was hesitant to hop aboard, but had a blast once he was there. Caleb was still undecided by the end.

Sweetness.

Micah wasn't unhappy, but just a little confused, especially once we went a little faster.

Captain, O my Captain.

"Mom, I can't open my eyes! This is strange."

Trip to Grandfather Mountain

After we got back from Montgomery, we packed up again and went to Linville to visit Uncle Rusty at his beautiful home. His neighborhood has a great lake/beach area that Josiah enjoyed. The next day we checked out Grandfather Mountain.

At the Nature Center

River Otters

A cinnamon black bear.

So close, yet so safe.

I was pretty much a walking advertisement for Ergo. That thing is comfortable! Seriously, I had at least three parents ask me about it. I hauled Micah around for nearly 3 hours and was never in pain. Micah took a great nap, so clearly he was comfortable too.

Josiah trotting along what turned out later to be a rather daring, and long, trail for a nearly 4-year-old. He was a trooper! It was lots of fun exploring nature, learning about moss and seeing snails.

My little hikers. Daddy helped more with Josiah once the trail got a little rocky and steep.

At the top. I was a little baffled because Josiah's courage was clearly tested on on the steeper parts of the trail, but he didn't blink an eyelash crossing that bridge. Meanwhile, Mama's knees are knocking being a mile up in the air on a swaying bridge! Fears are very individual, aren't they?

Montgomery Visit

After having been away for nearly a year, we made the trek down to Alabama to visit Jonathan's grandparents. They hadn't seen Micah since he was a newborn!

I tried to get a cute picture of the boys in Granddaddy's truck, but I didn't think they turned out as cute as Josiah's solo shot a few years ago.

We also got to meet Ansley, cousin Ron's little girl. She's cute as a button and just two months younger than Micah.

Crawling in Granddaddy's tomato patch.

Flags from the service that morning.
