Carolina Blue Baby

These came out really cute...
"Jock on the Rock" look?

Matchy Matchy

I don't think I characterized myself as a Mom that would go really matchy-matchy with my kids, but here I am. It's hard to resist sometimes! Granted I didn't buy them to match. I bought the clothes at different times at different stores, and I truly just happened to put them in them on the same morning and noticed they coordinated.

Might as well do a photo shoot! Though it didn't go really well. Micah lunging for a leaf.

"Brothers don't shake hands; brothers gotta hug."

Silly faces.

Sweet kiss.

Apparently the ground is fascinating.

Living On the Edge...

Please someone save my baby...

We knew he was pulling up, but we had no idea he was capable of this!

Looks like we have a little daredevil on our hands.

Now take a deep breath. Stop your Google search for Children's Services of Hickory. This picture has indeed been photoshopped by our friends (one of whom does in fact work for foster care. hmm...). See!

Jonathan is within clear grabbing distance of his child. But to be sure, it was his father who put him there and not his mother.

Micah at 9 Months

Micah turned nine months earlier this week. Here you go:

We've cemented some good habits this month: he's consistently sleeping through the night, consistently hitting his afternoon nap (and normally getting in a decent morning one), clearing up his skin issues, and eating a wider variety of food.

He's almost solely eating table food. He's not a baby food fan, and I haven't the patience for it. His favorites foods so far: pears (gets really excited when he sees them), breads, pasta, apples, peas and cucumbers. He's not a big fan of Cheerios.

He's seems to be accurately signing "all done" at meal time. There were moments I thought he was clapping or waving, but it hasn't been really consistent. He's been saying "ba ba" for a while, but recently added "da da" and few other jumbled consonants.

His third tooth (top left) came in and several others appear to be on the way.

He's not crawling on all fours yet, but he's definitely mobile. He moves from sitting to crawl position and back again. His favorite places to pull up are the toy box downstairs and the bathtub.

We haven't had his nine month appointment yet (it's scheduled for after 10 months) because we're switching doctors. I figured since he didn't have his six month appointment until after seven months, we're right on target!

Micah Love

Here are few more shots of Micah being adorable. A few of these are left over from our visit in January.

Family Pictures

These are from church and brunch on Sunday.
Aunt Marisa getting a big hug from Josiah.

Yeah, I think they're going to be great parents!

I do love my brother despite the look on my face. It's because he's so silly.

Here are some cute shots after the shower of everyone playing outside.

Ryan getting some giggles.

Sus and Davis. The rest of my pictures of Davis turned out blurry...for obvious reasons if you've met him.

Josiah trying to score some goals.

Uncle Parker teaching him proper throwing position.

That's a content Granddaddy.

Love it. That's where the good sugar is right there.

Rachel's Baby Shower

This weekend we headed to Atlanta for a baby shower for Rachel. Did I mention that they're expecting a little girl on May 1? Did I mention how excited I am about having a niece? And that Rachel and Parker are going to be the most amazing parents? Truth is, I just wasn't sure if I should blog about it yet, but now I'm ready to explode all over this post.

Susan, Jaclyn, Aunt Gail and I teamed up to throw the baby shower at Mom and Dad's church youth building. Susan is the woman when it comes to party-planning and amazing decorations and details.

How cute are these cupcakes?

I made these cookies as party favors. I learned a few things to improve along the way, but I'm pretty happy with how they came out overall.

Continuing the bird theme with the table decorations.

Susan did this cute branch with baby pictures of Parker and Rachel tied with ribbon.

I made these cute nests (the recipe was essentially Rice Krispie treats with chow mein noodles instead of cereal). Susan did the adorable name tags.

We had guests sign a storybook, "Oh the Places You'll Go!" as a guest book.

The hostesses with the Mama of honor (she's the one in the middle; you can't even tell she's pregnant straight on, but her little bump is adorable. I'm sure the baby inside is even cuter.)
