Hall of Fame Induction

Mimi and Anna came back down again this week, this time with Granddaddy, for his induction into his high school's hall of fame.

We had a hard time convincing Josiah he needed an afternoon nap. He finally conked out while eating a snack on Mimi's lap. I think our womanly chit-chat lulled him to sleep. Mimi had his shirt made for him; it says, "Big Brother." She had one made for the little brother too!

After he woke up, he gave out some good post-nap snuggles. Granddaddy took him for a walk outside on his shoulders because Josiah had a blister on one foot and refused to wear both shoes or a band-aid ("they're sticky!").

The ceremony was pretty long, so after the dinner, Josiah and I wandered around the high school with another mom and toddler. Josiah was so tickled with this one-year-old. He would throw his toy on the ground over and over, and Josiah thought it was so funny to give it back to him again and again. It's nice when toddlers are entertained by things that annoy their mothers.

We came back in for Granddaddy's acceptance speech and Mimi had some lollipops to occupy Josiah. He would lick it, put it down, take a sip of water, repeat. He didn't even come close to finishing either of the two she gave him, but it sure is a good quieting tool for him!

Grandmother has already been accepted into the same hall of fame as a teacher at the school. Dr. Moseley looks like he's about to kiss his Robert E. Lee statue...sorry about my camera timing :)

Cousin Bumps

My sister-in-law Amy and I have boy cousins in our bellies at the same time. So fun! I'm about 31 weeks here, and she's about 20. Her due date is the day after Josiah's birthday.

Moseley Family Visit

Mimi, Anna, Amy and Caleb made the long journey down from North Carolina for a great visit this week. We've not been able to go up for a visit recently, so we were really glad we got to see them.

Josiah opened his Easter basket from Mimi and Granddaddy.

Anna brought him Simba from her trip to Disney World.

Anna got to entertain her nephews in the back seat.

Caleb is a big fan on playing with phones. He sat with Great-Granddaddy and Great-Grandmother for a long time just pressing buttons.

The boys didn't play together too much, but they did have a sweet moment playing with the Jack in the Box.

On Thursday we met up in Homewood for a trip to the library and ice cream.

Our Easter

On Saturday, Josiah and I hopped over the neighborhood Easter egg hunt. We were a little late, so we missed some of the loot, but Josiah still found the golden egg for his age group (which one of the coordinators quietly pointed out to us). It was the bunny box he's holding - who would have thought to hunt for that? They had more activities around lunch time, but more on that in a different post.

Jonathan had to work all day on Easter, so Nana and Pop came down to keep Josiah and I company. Nan brought some Rice Krispie eggs to make with Josiah. My little chef enjoyed "helping" with that one!

On Sunday we headed to church and then had a big Easter lunch with Erin and baby Ella. Josiah opened his Easter baskets (one from Nan and Pop and the other from Aunt Gail and Uncle Ronnie).

ABCs - the updated version. Ironically, "LMNOP" was the first part he learned, now he consistently leaves it out completely. The rest is pretty darn close, and he can do it really fast. He's very proud of his ABC-singing skills right now.

Easter Egg Hunt

Our friend Jennifer hosted an Easter Egg Hunt at her house today. Josiah was already really excited about Easter eggs this year. I pulled out some plastic ones left over from last year, and he seriously played with them for an hour one afternoon.

Deja Vu

This is one of my favorite pictures of Parker; it's on a Christmas ornament on Mom and Dad's tree, and it brings a smile to my face every time I see it.

This little house at the tot lot has always reminded me of it, so I finally snapped a picture of Josiah in an attempt to recreate the adorable "Christmas cottage" picture.

The houses looked less alike than I remembered, but it still has the essence.

More Sunshine

Saturday morning was beautiful again, so we hit another local park.

He used to only do this shaking bridge while holding my hand. He's still tentative, but much more willing.

The big slide. Once again, he's much more daring than he used to be, but the park was crowded that day and other kids were whizzing by him.
