Our Thanksgiving

The Moseleys came into town on Tuesday, and we celebrated Thanksgiving with them and the Dyes and the Olives on Tuesday night.
We got to the Dyes' house and discovered that Josiah and Granddaddy were twins!

Strangely, that was my only picture that evening. But the meal was delicious! Josiah had a blast playing, and it was tough to go home to bed that night. Jonathan and David didn't like having to leave the Wii either.

The next day, we celebrated Christmas at the Olives' house.

We were so excited David, Amy and Caleb got to come down too! The three of them and Anna stayed at our house Tuesday night, and it was fun having a big gang for breakfast.

Mimi and Granddaddy gave Josiah a Little People nativity! He's loved playing with it, and already knew most of the characters.

Cousin Charles sweetly brought back their cars that Josiah had played with the night before.

Playing with the nativity with Mimi.

Josiah was CRAZY about cousin Charles. If he left Josiah's vision for a moment, Josiah asked, "Where Charles go?"

Granddaddy showing us a map of Tanzania. They had just returned from a pastorate there. I'm constantly amazed at their willingness to go overseas and serve Christ without hesitation. In their "retirement," he's pastored churches in Romania, Austria, Spain and Tanzania.

Flying with Granddad.

We do a gift exchange with this side of the family, and Josiah's opening his gift. He also helped a few other people open theirs.

A Mr. Potato Head! He loves it!

Caleb opening his gift.

The cousins have matching Christmas outfits.

We told Josiah to put Caleb in his lap. He misunderstood and sat in Caleb's lap. Aren't I a wonderful aunt to take a picture before I tried to rescue my nephew?

It reminded me of when Jaclyn and I used to get matching outfits at Christmas.

Hard to get a great shot together.

Did I mention he really likes Charles?

Caleb thought Uncle Jim was hilarious. He squealed every time he went after him.

Most of the gang, minus the photog (and Taylor who was working and Caroline and Will who live in DC).

Moseley family picture. Supposedly Amy got a better shot, at least that's what I'm hoping for.

The rest of the gang headed back Thursday, so we celebrated with the Aaron and Erin that night. We had a great meal, but no pictures - boo! We also had a great meal with our park friends on Monday night. We had a sweet time of prayer at the end of the night.

Studying With Daddy

Jonathan is reading a medical journal. Josiah is studying a Thomas the Train catalog.
I'd say with equal intensity. Josiah seriously looked at that paper for hours on end.

All Bundled Up.. and Smiling?

I took these pictures because I think Josiah's winter hat is adorable. I asked him to smile for these, and he actually posed for me - a first!

The first one was perfect, but then he did this when I asked for a smile...

This was a little forced, but the effort is very cute!

Happy Birthday, Granddaddy!

And a big oops for being a day late. Big oops. But Josiah might not have been in the mood to do this yesterday!

Kids' Gym

Our Moms and Tots group made a trip to Kids' Gym on Friday. I wasn't sure if Josiah would dig it because he's not much of a climber. Oh no. This child had a ton of fun.

Climbing up to see Natalie.

Enjoying the ball pit with Bailey. This was definitely his favorite place.

The owner played this game with the kids where she put different balls in one of the cones and pretended it was different flavors of ice cream. Josiah really got into it and named all the colors and kept making me "eat" the ice cream cones he made.

Rohan demonstrated his other favorite, the "roller coaster." What kid wouldn't like that? It was the location of many a sharing lesson.

Leaving...that was not fun. Josiah sobbed "I want go back there" for a good ten minutes. Pitiful. Very close to nap time doesn't help either.

More Caleb Love

I stole these pictures from Amy's blog of Josiah and Caleb, because they were just too cute.

Learning about proper snuggle technique.

Now isn't that just the sweetest thing?

"Caleb, I used to do this all day. Let me show you how to do it."

"This is an alternative way to play with your rings. Stacking is overrated."

Giving Aunt Amy some love.

Sharing his trains! Now that is true love.

Welcome Davis Parker!

Ryan and Susan had their sweet baby boy in November 6 at 3:40 p.m. His name is Davis Earl, and he weighed 7 lbs., 8 oz. and was 21 1/4 inches.

Susan had to have an emergency C-section due to meconium (don't know if I spelled it right). Davis is still in the NICU but is expected to be fine!
For those who don't know, Ryan is my cousin, and he married Susan, one of my good friends from college. What a blessing!

Happy Birthday, Parker!

Hope you have a smother-your-face kind of day, little bro!

You're not alone anymore!

Trick or Treat!

This is the first Halloween we've gotten dressed up, so it was pretty exciting. We decided to switch our accessories and be a train driver for Halloween day. Daddy was on call, so Josiah and I went to check out some of the free things in town. He made a spider craft at Michael's, and then we got a free kid's meal at Zaxby's because he was in costume.

He could care less about coloring...

That night we headed over to Jack's second birthday party! We played at their house and ate, and then went out trick-or-treating.

Happy Birthday, Jack!

My little train driver. Thanks for the gear Aunt Rachel and Uncle Parker!

Jack, Bailey and Josiah headed out for trick-or-treat! Josiah was actually bummed to go get candy because Jack had received new Thomas toys, and he didn't want to leave those!

I wasn't sure if Josiah would "get" trick-or-treating, but apparently begging for candy comes naturally for children.

He was really quite adorable. He and Jack are knocking on the door. Our neighborhood isn't really trick-or-treating conducive, so we were glad to get to go in the Thompsons' neighborhood.

Here's us practicing saying "trick or treat." I'm pretty sure it's the cutest video you'll watch all day.
